The 3rd Blue Planet Symposium will be hosted at the conference center of NOAA’s Center for Weather and Climate Prediction in College Park, Maryland, USA.
Getting to NCWCP
Located in the DC metro area, College Park is served by Dulles International Airport, Regan National Airport, and Baltimore/Washington International Airport. NCWCP is easily reachable by car and metro.
The NCWCP is accessible via the Metro’s Green or Yellow Line to the College Park/University of Maryland station.
Walking from Metro: It is a 15-20 minute walk (to the east down River Road and then to the path that runs along the fence between the front of NCWCP and the rear of the USDA building at 4700 River Road) from the station to the NCWCP.
Shuttle from Metro: A shuttle is also available from the College Park/University of Maryland station to the NCWCP (M-Square stop #4) during peak commute periods (6 to 9 am and 3 to 6 pm).
NCWCP provides free, on-campus parking for tenants and small visiting groups. Individuals with NOAA issued badges must stop and present their badge at the access control reader at vehicle entry gate before proceeding. Any individual without an access badge must obtain clearance from the security guard stationed at the entry gate prior to driving onto campus. Individuals entering the security perimeter on foot may be asked for identification prior to being permitted onto campus. All persons wishing to enter the facility must present a valid, government-issued photo ID.
